About

What inspired you to pursue a law degree?

Growing up I always had an interest in crime and social justice. My father was a criminal lawyer in my hometown, so dinner conversations usually consisted of whatever happened in court that week. I can remember arguing over politics with my peers as early as fourth grade. I believe I always had the personality of a future lawyer, but I didn't have the interest until going to college. During undergraduate school I really started considering going to law school after I took an ethics class, and my interest was confirmed when I took a business law class the next year. I found that I was more engaged in my law class than any of my other business classes, and I really enjoyed discussing different interpretations of the situations we were given.

Why did you choose OU Law?

I chose OU Law because of the culture. I attended law school events during the fall when I was applying, and this was the only school where I had a personal conversation with the deans. The admissions staff was exceptional, and they made me feel welcome the first time I walked through the door. The technology initiatives and welcoming recruiting experiences are what gained my interest, and the collaborative culture is what ultimately led me to choose OU Law.

What is something most people don't know about you?

One of favorite hobbies is downhill mountain biking. I have been going every summer for about 4 years.
