What inspired you to pursue a law degree?

My academic advisor at my undergrad, Professor Paul Donnelly, challenged me to pursue a law degree because of my passion for justice and equality. I spent most of my undergrad experience studying race relations, discrimination, and reparations and gender discrimination. I am deeply saddened by the state of our society and Professor Donnelly challenged me to make a difference through law. To reaffirm his challenge, he allowed me to meet John Raley when Mr. Raley visited my school. We became pals, and his work with the Innocence Project inspired me to pursue a law degree.

Why did you choose OU Law?

I chose OU Law because, first and foremost, being a sooner has become a family tradition. OU Law is the best in the lovely state I call home and it's the Law school that trained my friend and mentor John Raley. I've always wanted to be a Sooner!

What is something most people don't know about you?

I have a sweet puppy named Gryffindor who is a deaf (yes, deaf, as in he cannot hear) Border-Collie Australian Shepherd and sometimes I lie to my friends and tell them that I can't hangout because I'm "sick" but really it's because I don't want Gryffie to get sad because I'm not spending enough time with him.
