Students Travel to Equal Justice Works Conference and Career Fair

November 8, 2012 | By Assistant Professor Elizabeth T. Bangs

I had the honor at the end of October of traveling to the Washington, D.C., area with 10 law students who are interested in pursuing public interest careers.  We attended the annual Equal Justice Works Conference and Career Fair, where the students had the opportunity to network with 120 employers and like-minded students from across the country.  Of course, no trip to D.C. would be complete without some sightseeing.  On Saturday morning, we toured the East Wing of the White House.  While we were in the Red Room we were able to see President Obama exit the White House and board Marine One.  It was a thrill for us and the dozens of other Americans crowding around the windows with us.  We are very grateful to Dean Joe Harroz and the College of Law for sponsoring this annual trip.
