OU Law’s Business Law Society today hosted William H. Sultemeier, General Counsel of OGE Energy Corp. and OG&E, who shared with students his experiences as a complex and international business law attorney and now as general counsel.
During the last week of winter break, five OU law students – 3Ls Julie Hunter, Tara Jorden , Cara Miller and Paige Green and 2L Aiza Skelton – were on their way to Montevideo, Uruguay, with Alvaro Baca, OU Law professor and director of OU Law’s International Human Rights Clinic, to study the indigenous people and learn about the struggles and issues that they face.
This semester, the OU College of Law is piloting a small business legal clinic at the OU Innovation Hub, where law students will have the opportunity to advise entrepreneurs in the early stages of commercializing innovative technologies and businesses.
This week, 36 OU Law students participated in the Calvert Moot Court Competition. Competitors included 2L and 3L students who researched a case currently before the Supreme Court ( Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado ) and presented oral arguments before tournament judges.
