About

Brenda Barnes joined the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2006. She teaches and supervises Licensed Legal Interns in the Civil and Criminal Divisions of the Clinic. In addition, she co-teaches Litigation Skills.

Brenda Barnes went to private practice immediately upon graduation in 1999. She handled a diverse case load representing individuals in Family, Juvenile, and Criminal Law.

Professor Barnes served as the defense attorney on the Cleveland County Juvenile Drug Court Team and was the recipient of the University of Oklahoma College of Law Kelly Beardslee Criminal Defense Award in 1999 and the Cleveland County Outstanding Service to the Community Award in 2006.
