About

Carol Booth joined the OU College of Law as the director of communications at the end of 2020. Booth has almost 20 years of communications and public relations experience that includes project management, crisis communications, social media planning and execution, publication layout and design and overall public relations development and strategy.

She started her career at the Oklahoma Department of Labor as the legislative liaison and communications manager under Labor Commissioner Brenda Reneau and then moved to Kansas City to help lead the magazine division and manage marketing for the Kansas City Star. Upon her return to Oklahoma, she served as the communications manager at the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission assisting the oil and gas producing states, their governors and oil and gas regulatory agencies. She transitioned to the National Rural Water Association as the communications and special projects director for a few years before she found herself as the communications and community relations manager at the Oklahoma State Department of Health where she helped lead the communications response for COVID-19.
