About

Connie Smothermon came to the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2004. She began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Logan County handling the juvenile delinquent and deprived dockets and prosecuting homicides and sexual assault cases. In 1999, Smothermon transferred to the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office to head the Domestic Violence Prosecution Unit. Additionally, she prosecuted general homicides, death penalty cases, violent felonies, sexual abuse and child abuse cases. Currently Smothermon serves on various domestic violence boards and organizations dedicated to drafting legislation aimed at the protection of victims of family violence.

Smothermon is admitted to practice law in the State of Oklahoma, the Western District of Oklahoma and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of The American Bar Association, The Oklahoma Bar Association, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and serves on the OBA Work-Life Balance Task Force.
