NORMAN, OKLA – The University of Oklahoma College of Law climbed 11 spots in this year’s ranking of the Top 25 Best Value Law Schools published by preLaw magazine, securing the 13th spot in the highly touted rankings.
“We are thrilled to be recognized not only for the quality of education we provide our students, but also for the value we offer,” said Katheleen Guzman, dean of the OU College of Law. “Value demands both excellence and affordability – one without the other won’t work. We offer both, including the lowest resident tuition in the Big 12 and employment and bar passage rates that regularly rank among the top in the nation.”
The results of the July 25, 2023, bar exam showed that 88% of OU graduates passed the bar compared to 68% for the state as a whole, ranking OU No. 24 in the nation in first-time bar passage rates. Employment rates for graduates are similarly impressive. The employment rate for the class of 2022 is 94.6%.
In addition, the College of Law was ranked No. 51 in the U.S. News and World Report rankings of the best law schools in the country in 2023, the highest ranking the school has ever achieved.
“This is a testament to the dedication of our faculty, our staff, our students, and, through their ongoing support, our alumni,” Guzman said. “Everyone at the College of Law is committed to the goal of producing qualified graduates with who are well prepared for lives of meaning and purpose in the law.”
