In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher’s admission to the OU College of Law, the college and the university’s main campus devoted the week of Sept. 23 to Fisher and other civil rights leaders, with acknowledgment of the ongoing pursuit of equality.
Dr. Karen Korematsu, daughter of Fred Korematsu and renowned civil rights activist, joined with the OU Law community Monday, Oct. 7 for a screening of the award-winning documentary "And Then They Came for Us," which details the extreme racial injustice and human rights abuses committed by the United States in incarcerating over 110,000 Japanese Americans during World War II.

This week, 36 OU Law students participated in the Calvert Moot Court Competition. Competitors included 2L and 3L students who researched a case currently before the Supreme Court ( Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado ) and presented oral arguments before tournament judges.
Recent alumni of OU College of Law international law courses Rebeca West (OU ’16), Katherine Trent (OCU ’16), and current OU J.D./MBA candidate Dan Sloat successfully initiated the creation of the Oklahoma Bar Association’s new International Law Section.
OU Law alumnus Vince Logan (’84), Senior Advisor for Permanens Capital’s Tribal Wealth Practice, returned to his alma mater Thursday, Sept. 21, to speak to students on “The Securities Industry: Regulatory, Compliance and Enforcement.”
