About
Adjunct Professor J. David Hampton joined the College of Law faculty in 2008 and the Price College of Business faculty in 2015. Professor Hampton teaches Mineral Title Examination, Real Property Law, Oil & Gas Contracts, Introduction to Property & Natural Resources, Real Estate Transactions, as well as Oil and Gas Law.
After graduating from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, he founded Hampton and Milligan, a 35-year-old downtown Oklahoma City law firm specializing in oil and gas law title examination, oil and gas law, wills, trusts, estate administration, environmental law, and real estate title examination.
Currently, Adjunct Professor Hampton is a lecturer for the American Association of Petroleum Landmen (AAPL), the Oklahoma City Association of Petroleum Landmen (OCAPL), as well as various other organizations and energy companies. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Association, and the Oklahoma County Bar Association. In 2014, the OCAPL awarded Adjunct Professor Hampton the William M. Majors, Jr., CPL Distinguished Service Award for his dedication to the oil and gas industry of Oklahoma. Professor Hampton has also dedicated time to the Bill Majors Mentoring Program for the Energy Management Program for over 8 years.
