About

Michelle Johnson graduated summa cum laude from Oklahoma City University Law School in 1991 and was voted “Outstanding Graduate” by the law faculty. Johnson was the managing editor of the Oklahoma City University Law Review, which published her case comment, and a recipient of both Hatton W. Sumner and Phi Delta Phi Balfour scholarships.

Johnson practiced law for several years at Andrews, Davis, Legg, Bixler, Milsten and Price in Oklahoma City, where she had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of civil cases in both state and federal courts. Johnson also spent several years working for Cleveland County CASA, Inc., a nonprofit that provides advocates for children in the abuse and neglect system.

In 2004 Johnson served as an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma College of law, teaching Law and Literature with Dr. Ronald Schleifer. She later taught legal writing and appellate advocacy to first-year students at OU from fall 2006 through spring 2009 and coached moot court teams.

Now the managing editor of World Literature Today magazine, Johnson is teaching Advanced Persuasive Writing at the College of Law, where she continues to volunteer as a moot court coach.
