About

While a law student, Steven J. Cleveland served as Executive Articles Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal.  Following graduation from Georgetown Law, Cleveland served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Henry A. Politz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.  Cleveland then was associated with the Washington, D.C. office of the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.  At Skadden, he worked on various types of business transactions, including tender offers, asset purchases, and mergers.  After practicing law for several years, Cleveland joined the law faculty at the University of Oklahoma, where he teaches courses in Corporate Law, Federal Securities Regulation, and Mergers & Acquisitions.  His scholarly articles have been praised by peers, and re-printed in the Corporate Practice Commentator and the Securities Law Review. His teaching has been praised by his students, and he won a university-wide teaching award.  His service to the legal community includes editorial responsibilities for The Business Lawyer, a publication of the American Bar Association.  Cleveland is a member of the Washington, D.C. and Georgia Bar Associations.
