Preparing for Your Visit
The Law Library is open to the public. You may access our print collections, Westlaw, and other online databases. Reference services are available. While we cannot provide legal advice, our law librarians will be glad to assist you in using the resources. Please consult our hours to be certain the law library will be open when you arrive and reference assistance will be here if you need it.

Access
The law library is open to the public. When you arrive at the building, you will need to use the phone at the doors to ask the attendant at the Circulation Desk to let you into the building.

Borrowing Policy
The University of Oklahoma Law Library serves both the university community and the citizens of Oklahoma. Persons with proper identification may check out materials at the circulation desk. Registration at the circulation desk is required of all patrons to check out materials. OU faculty, students and staff must show their registered university ID card. Members of the public who are at least 18 years of age must show their Oklahoma driver's license with a current address and photograph. The ID card will be held while reserve materials are in use. A military ID will be accepted.
Public Workstations
Our law library has two public workstations which offer access to Westlaw and over 100 databases. Whether you're a legal professional, student, or curious individual, these resources provide comprehensive legal research tools.
Photocopying and Scanning
Our law library provides photocopiers with scanning and emailing features. They are conveniently located near the Reference Desk on the main floor.

To assist you with your research, the law library has developed a number of research guides. You should can consult these as you do your research. You can also consult our list of databases and online sources. While you must be on campus to use most of our subscription databases, others are freely available on the Internet.

Government Documents
The Law Library is a member of the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). The library provides free access to select U.S. Government documents and publications. You can also find many of these materials online at GPO.Gov and Govinfo.Gov.
