The OU College of Law is looking for professionals who need additional legal training. If this describes you and you have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, please follow the below steps to apply.
1. Online Application

Create and validate your account, then begin the application.
2. Standardized Tests (No GRE Required - Only TOEFL for INTL Applicants)
Successful applicants will have an official TOEFL score of 600 on the paper-based test (250 on the computer, 100 on the internet-based test) or higher. Scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service. (Code: 6879)
- ESL Requirements
- One of the following is required for any student for whom English is a second language. The College of Law MLS office must directly receive an official test score from the issuing organization. Scores submitted directly by a student will not be considered.
- TOEFL minimum scores:
- TOEFL iBT 100, or
- TOEFL computer-based 250, or
- TOEFL paper-based 600 on the paper-based tests.
- IELTS minimum overall score of 7.0. In addition, no individual sub-section score can be below a 6.5. An official copy of the score must include subsection scores.
- TOEFL minimum scores:
- The Duolingo and Pearson tests will no longer be accepted for students applying for admission for Spring 2024 and beyond
- U.S. Degree Completion. International students who have completed or will be completing a U.S. degree at a regionally accredited college or university can substitute that degree for the TOEFL.

- Personal Statement – Describe your career experience to date, your future goals and how obtaining the M.L.S. degree will help you achieve those goals. (500 words or less)
- Letter of Recommendation (Optional) – Letter acknowledging your application and recommendation for the program from your manager, a work colleague, or a former professor. (Must be on corporate letterhead)
4. Official Transcripts
Submit your transcript from every college attended. Request all institution(s) to email (preferred) or mail your official documentation using contact information below. Electronic submission is preferred.

5. Application Fee
$50 domestic applicants/$100 international applicants
Once this information is submitted, OU College of Law uses a rolling admissions process to evaluate each candidate. Prospective students should expect to be contacted within 2 business days of their finalized application regarding next steps. After that, the application will be presented to the Admissions Committee, and students should expect to hear back within two weeks regarding their application to the M.L.S. program.
