About:
Philip Johnson joined the OU College of Law as the Administrative Law Recruiter in August 2025. Born and raised in central North Carolina, Philip earned his bachelor's degree in Philosophy & English with a sub-focus in Business Leadership. Upon moving to Oklahoma, he earned his Master's Degree in Educational Administration & Curriculum Supervision.
Prior to joining OU Law, Philip amassed over 25 years of experience working in higher education capacities...with the last 15 years served at OU. While at OU, Philip has received notoriety for his service, receiving the 2019 OU Provost's Outstanding Academic Advising Award; the 2019 OU Distinguished Performance Award; the 2023 OU Champion Award for Outstanding Staff; and most recently, the 2025 OU George Lynn Cross Superior Performance Award. Philip considers his greatest professional achievement to be that in 2016, he constructed the current American Sign Language/ASL program for the OU Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education.
