Congratulations to Jon Lee on his receipt of the Fred C. Zacharias Memorial Prize for Scholarship in Professional Responsibility at the Association of American Law Schools annual meeting in January 2024.
The award is given annually for the outstanding article in legal ethics. Lee’s article, “Private Sanctions, Public Harm?” exposes the lack of transparency in the lawyer disciplinary system that fuels the public distrust of the legal profession’s ability to police itself. On receiving the award, Lee said, “I am humbled to receive an award named in honor of one of the preeminent legal ethics scholars whose work continues to resonate today. I hope to continue his legacy and write articles that have a meaningful impact on the regulation of the legal profession and the protection of those it serves."
