The program prepared me to assist attorneys and excel in my career. Above all, the program taught me that this career requires attention to detail and a willingness to learn and adapt. I am so thankful that I took the plunge and enrolled in OU’s legal assistant program. It set me on a career path that I am passionate and excited about.

Celebrating Over 50 Years Educating Paralegals

Courses are offered in a variety of formats including live sessions (synchronous through Zoom) on Saturdays (9 am to 5 pm), completely online, and in a hybrid format (meets live and online). Students must complete 9 synchronous credits. The times and formats that courses are offered in are convenient for those students who are working. Students can complete the program within 18 months or have up to five years to complete the program requirements.

I enjoy teaching in the online classroom because students have the ability to interact with me and each other during the course. The classes are engaging and interactive. Our program provides the education and training needed to enter the paralegal profession as well as formal education for current paralegals.

One of the great advantages of OU’s (Paralegal) program is how each course builds on the next. From Intro to Law to Civil Litigation to Evidence, each course seemed to pull back a deeper layer of the law. Further, the vast array of elective courses provides an invaluable glimpse into which field of law a student might be best suited for.
